Upon reading this particular story of the Feds going after the employer and enabler of a soon to be convicted killer of a police officer in Houston Texas, I immediately said ” Good, it’s about freaking time that a prosecutor with any sense of professional responsibility and leadership decided to go after one of the scores of employers in our country who continually render aid and comfort to the illegal immigrants ( criminals on both counts ) for the simple purpose of putting them on the payroll of their company at the minimum wage. Of course, if the enforcement tactic of going after the employer had any type of universal application and certainty of consequence, you had better believe these employers would clean up their companies and that a lot of these illegals who flock across our border each day would think twice about coming to America once they realized that the employment opportunities are not as attractive or available as they once thought they were. However and as I have said before, a law is only as effective as the consistency in which it is enforced and the total lack of any type of enforcement effort has been absolutely appalling…until now.
With the filing of federal charges against landscape company owner Robert Lane Camp for repeatedly assisting and deliberately harboring his illegal immigrant and previously deported employee Juan Leonardo Quintero, the Feds are finally doing what should have been done a very long time ago as there are hundreds of illustrations of law enforcement officers and other gifted first responders throughout our great country who would still be alive today if their killers who had previously been deported would have had the book thrown at them not only when they committed their original offense but when they first set foot back in the United States in direct violation of their deportation rulings.
This particular case of Juan Leonardo Quintero is very disgusting not only through the fact that he had a very alarming criminal history in our country dating back to his conviction on a child molestation charge in 1998 for which he was deported but also through the revelation that he had been allowed to remain in our country in direct violation of his deportation order as this lack of enforcement came home to roost big time when Quintero murdered Houston Police Officer Rodney Johnson in cold blood on September 21, 2006 during a so called routine traffic stop. It has also been brought to the attention of everyone through the filing of charges by the Feds that Robert Camp not only posted the $10,000.00 cash bond for Quintero following his Indecency with a Child arrest in 1998 for which he was deported the next year but that he also flew Quintero back to Houston after he had been smuggled into Arizona from Mexico only six months after being deported. In other words, Camp has been rendering criminal assistance for this deported criminal not only deliberately but repeatedly over the years as the only thing that put an end to this flagrant violation of the laws by both of these criminals was unfortunately the death of Officer Johnson which obviously would have been prevented had the existing laws on the books been enforced against Quintero from the very beginning.
In fact, if the Feds really want to do what is right with the prosecution of Camp in this case, then they should charge him with Felony Murder charges as compared to the Capital Murder that Quintero is facing as Camp obviously manipulated the system to his advantage and provided Quintero with a launching pad for killing Officer Johnson and that is exactly what he did. Instead of tagging him with some watered down charges for which he could face up to ten years in prison that all of us know he won’t serve anywhere close to that maximum sentence, the Feds should absolutely blast this enabling low life landscaping company owner right between the eyes and send a message to employers everywhere when it comes to the hiring and continuing employment status of illegal workers as criminal accomplices such as getaway car drivers for armed robberies for which there is a killing are subjected to the same charges as the actual killers and the exact same thing should be in play here for Robert Lane Camp. I would also suggest as well that the Internal Revenue Service conduct a full audit of Camp’s personal and business tax records over the years as his demonstrated pattern of manipulation and misconduct as it pertained to Juan Leonardo Quintero is more than likely not an isolated incident and is obviously a big time red flag for additional criminal activity with other employees that needs to be investigated and confirmed.
Finally and with regards to the pending legal action against Juan Leonardo Quintero, he will eventually be prosecuted and most certainly be convicted of Capital Murder which in the State of Texas, means instant death which is perfect by me. As for Robert Lane Camp, he couldn’t be hit by the feds both often or hard enough to satisfy me and if I was the family of Officer Rodney Johnson, I would launch a civil wrongful death suit not only against Camp for his repeated enabling and assistance in this case, but I would also go after the Feds as well for their deliberate refusal to enforce the laws that were already on the books from the very beginning.
I am therefore going to wrap up this particular posting by listing the link for the updated report by James Pinkerton and Dale Schiller of the Houston Chronicle on the status of the case against Robert Lane Camp and you will immediately see that this scumbag is a big time sleazeball and criminal enabler to the max who needs to be both prosecuted and sentenced to exactly that.
